As a fan of the original Korean “Oldboy” I have this to say about Spike Lee’s version…I actually enjoyed it immensely. The story and plot flows a little bit better than the original, but some of the added plot points were unnecessary in my opinion, it still is entertaining though. There are a couple changes to compensate for cultural differences and they work well to set it in 2013 and America. It works well as a mystery thriller. While the original will always hold a place in my favorite films list, this version, while not better than the original, or vice versa, definitely deserves to be seen at some point and I would put them side by side.
It was awesome fun. If you can still go see it, do. If you can’t…get it on Bluray or something
I was going through the Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wikia and was looking through the histories of the different captains. When I got to Picard, I found a very recognizable guy who played young Picard only for the picture…
It’s quite the adventure! I’m going to keep it short at 4/5 albeit you may think it is too long, which at almost 3 hours, I wouldn’t blame you.
